Russia! If Give Me A Wall immediately sounds like something you've heard before, don't be suprised. This band has been hot hot hot on the blog circuit, building the hype that will certainly lead to a let down. It's Bloc Party meets Killers meets Rapture meets every other post-punk band out right now, except those other bands did it better, and they weren't even breaking any ground. That's not to say there aren't any good songs on this record. "Nineteen" is as good as anything out there. Maybe my expectations were too high, but hype can really damage an album. standout track: "Nineteen " |
