Gravity Won't get you high

"I Won't Survive" opens this album giving the album an immediate vibe of wierdness. But that's as wierd and interesting as it gets. From then on, the tracks are pretty typical female-fronted garage rock with a pop undertone, occasionally sounding a little like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, but bouncier. I'm even reminded of the girl ska punk bands of the 90s (Dance Hall Crashers, Tilt, Save Ferris). The Grates are a bit of fun, and have some very listenable tracks that people will love, but there's nothing to rave about, and nothing that hasn't been done before.

standout tracks: "Rock Boys" and "Sukkafish"
