PHOENIX
FOUNDATION
Horsepower
Caravan Records
3 years after its original release
in their New Zealand home country, Phoenix Foundation’s debut,
Horsepower, finds itself being revealed to the U.S. market.
What is revealed is an immensely talented band with the eclectic
charm of Elbow transcending to the obscure atmospheric heights of
Pink Floyd and Radiohead, with a brief stop at total electronic
weirdness on “Bruiser (Miami 400).” Albums this breathtaking
come rarely as it is, but for this to be a debut is astounding.
standout tracks: "The Swarm"
and "Bruiser (Miami 4000)" |
