Rather Ripped

Longevity is not easily accomplished in music, and when it is, it can usually be linked to greatness. While Rather Ripped may not be as influencial as the early noisy albums by Sonic Youth, it does establish them even further into the ranks of the greatest bands ever, and there has been many critics even calling this Sonic Youth's greatest masterpeice. While I wouldn't go as far as calling this their greatest record (my opinion: Evol), Rather Ripped is their best album in well over 10 years. The noise/fuzz is minimal, and this is easily their cleanest sounding record. While I tend to prefer when Thurston takes the mic, Kim has quite a few really good tracks, like "Jams Run Free."
