The killers
Sam's Town

It's really not as disapointing as it has been made out to be. Following a record as big as Hot Fuss is nearly impossible, and the worst thing they could've done is made a record that sounded exactly the same. Instead they attempted something bigger. Brandon Flowers promised it would be one of the greatest albums of the last 20 years. I'm not sure if it was ambition or cockiness that led Flowers to make such a statement, but that immediately creates a backlash. I for one, wanted to hate Sam's Town, despite loving Hot Fuss. The problem is that Sam's Town, despite being a bit of an overblown Springsteen homage, is pretty damn goood at times.

standout tracks: "Read My Mind" and "Sam's Town"
