One day it will please us to remember even
this
The verdict: Even after
all these years, The New York Dolls can still rock. These original
glam punkers are one of the groups credited for fathering punk rock.
While only Sylvain and Johansen remain, they do an excellent job
adding more positive history to the band, rather than the standard
embarassing revival album that most groups of this age find themselves
releasing. Johnny Thunders' guitars aren't there, are instead of
trying to replace him in order to recapture history (which would
be impossible), they let themselves evolve into having a different
sound, that is still distinctly the New York Dolls.
standout tracks: "Plenty of Music"
and "Gotta Get Away From Tommy" |
