A talentless hack with no discernible musical skills of his own, and a name that suggests that he’s far more hip than he is, Jonny Leather spent over a decade in New York City writing about music for such publications as New York Press and Brooklyn Vegan. Often spending five or more nights a week in the trenches documenting live performances with his camera, his music photography has graced the pages of New York Magazine, SPIN, Billboard, Paste, Village Voice and Magnet. A passionate supporter of the underground, he founded indie label/music collective Mecca Lecca Recording Co. in 2010. The collective has since released records by Christopher Paul Stelling, Unicycle Loves You, Howth, NØMADS and Rice Cultivation Society, among others.

In need of a change of change, Jonny abandoned the suffocating steel and concrete for the open space and slower pace of Santa Fe in early 2015. Soon after, he began immersing himself in the local scene. Over the past year his music blog, Mecca Lecca [www.meccalecca.com], has shifted focus towards the Santa Fe region with artist interviews, concert listings, live photos, and more.
